Tommy Rettig
started his career on stage at age six, appearing with
Mary Martin in "Annie Get Your Gun." While he is probably best
remembered for his role as Jeff Miller in the
"Lassie" TV series, he had a distinguished
list of movie credits, including a starring role
with Marilyn Monroe in "River of No Return."
Perhaps his most significant role was that of the
reluctant pianist in "The 5,000 Fingers of Dr.
T." In his later life he was a respected computer
programmer, writing applications in the pioneering
database program, dBase II (the first program I ever
learned!).
