Douglas Croft
Born Douglas Malcolm Wheatcroft
in Seattle, Washington
on August 12, 1926
When Douglas Wheatcroft first began acting, his agent shortened his name first to Douglas Wheat and then to Douglas Croft. One of his first roles was in King's Row with the very popular child actor Scotty Beckett. He went on to play the young George M. Cohan in Yankee Doodle Dandy and the young Lou Gehrig in The Pride of The Yankees, but his most successful role was as the first (and youngest) Robin, The Boy Wonder in the 1943 Batman serial.
